March 13, 2025, Panabo City—The Local Government of San Vicente, Palawan, has completed a benchmarking activity in collaboration with the National Mariculture Center to enhance aquaculture production and boost local livelihoods. The initiative, conducted under the Tulong Pangkabuhayan Program of 2023, aimed to provide advanced training and technical knowledge to the town’s Livelihood Team.
The benchmarking visit took place from March 9 to 13, 2025. Participants underwent hands-on training in modern marine culture techniques, toured processing facilities, and learned about modernization strategies for improving local aquaculture production.
The delegation, led by Livelihood Focal Person Miss Karen V. Andonga, explored best practices that can be replicated to support sustainable income growth in their community. The successful completion of the benchmarking activity is expected to enhance local mariculture productivity, create new livelihood opportunities, and contribute to the town’s economic growth. The local government remains committed to fostering sustainable aquaculture and supporting the livelihoods of local fishers and entrepreneurs.
